COVID-19 FAQ

Exceptional Care in Exceptional Times

As everyone finds themselves adjusting to this “New Normal” in their lives, so are we. As Real Estate Professionals we find ourselves implementing new procedures to keep our clients, be it Sellers or Buyers, as well as us, safe and protected as best as possible while showing or viewing properties.

Can we still view and buy houses right now?

We have had many people ask us lately if it is even still possible to purchase or sell a home even though we are urged to practice Social Distancing. The short answer is YES. The only time you will need to be in personal contact with another person is during a showing, and even then, the 2 meter (6 feet) distance will be maintained. We will make sure of that.

Electronic signing from the safety of your home

When you have found your dream home and are ready to make an offer, all the paperwork can be signed remotely through various signing platforms. As long as you have access to a computer and an email address, you are good to go!

Safe home inspections

The same goes for the home inspection. Many home inspectors offer a virtual inspection – they will be the only ones in the property, but you will be “attending” via video or chat. When it comes to signing the paperwork at your lawyer’s office, the rules of “in person” signing have been relaxed. It is now possible to sign the legal papers via two-way-videoconferencing! So still in front of your lawyer, just not in the same location.

Safe moving is possible

Also, moving companies are implementing stringent rules and guidelines to keep customers and employees safe. Please feel free to contact us for recommendations. So you see, even though we are operating in unprecedented times, we are still OPEN FOR BUSINESS! The Real Estate Council of Alberta (RECA) has some great information for Consumers on its website. Please, feel free to reach out to us with any and all questions you may have in regard to Real Estate… now or in the future!
